Welcome to the Department of Anesthesia at Al-Kitab University
The department was established in 2017 as one of the departments of Al-Kitab University College. It has become a stand-alone department affiliated with the College of Medical Technology, which was established in 2018. It aims to prepare a specialized cadre in anesthesiology, which now consists of four stages. The second batch graduated in 2022 (the number of graduate students is 79 for the year 2022 for the first round), the number of graduate students for the academic year 2021/2022, the first stage for this year is 391 students, and the second stage is 575, and the third stage is 391 students, and for the fourth stage 124 male and female students.
- Some medical specializations, both technical and clinical, are undesirable for many medical staff members and these come at the forefront of anesthesia, as the number of those enrolled in this course greatly decreases, whether at the level of doctors in diploma and board or at the level of technicians in higher diploma after secondary or bachelor .
- That the Department of Anesthesia Technologies has a unique scientific position in the academic world locally and in the Arab world and plays an effective and influential application role in the technical, health and medical field, meeting the needs of society and the requirements of the labor market and the student becomes a pioneer in his educational environment by graduating students of anesthesia technology to health institutions through compassionate dealing And based on solid scientific foundations to provide safe health care for the patient.
- The mission of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of the Book is to direct and adapt all its sources to reach excellence in education, research, and patient care, and to contribute to improving human health and preventing its diseases throughout Iraq to provide services and medical care in the field of anesthesia, in line with traditions and moral values And professional.
- This thesis includes the essential elements in improving patient care in Iraq to include education, scientific research, continuing education and community service, through a stimulating environment for acquiring, disseminating and producing knowledge in anesthesia techniques, and optimizing technology.
- Graduating specialized cadres to work in the magazines of anesthesia and intensive care techniques in operating theaters, as well as in intensive care and recovery units and pulmonary resuscitation units, by preparing and preparing anesthesia devices, following up their work and taking care of them, following up on their regularity and caring for them, and following up the patient’s condition during anesthesia and under the supervision of a doctor.
- Creating cadres with modern education and training in the field of anesthesia to form an important tributary by providing basic technical cadres and practicing the profession of anesthesia and intensive care to work in hospitals.
- The profession of anesthesia is considered one of the important and sensitive medical specialties, and that providing a broad base in the practitioners of this profession in the medical field in general is important to bridge the great shortfall in this specialty, and to be of help to work in hospitals and under the supervision of doctor’s anesthesiologist.
- Providing national cadres in this important medical specialization is an important necessity to provide anesthesia technicians who have medical information and practical experience in the field of anesthesia and medical care to form the main national base for filling the shortage in this important medical field.
