Welcome to the Department of Medical Laboratories Technologies at Al-Kitab University.
I have the honor to write these lines about the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the Medical Technical College – Al-Kitab University, which was established in the 2016-2017 academic year as a scientific-technical tributary that supports the health and medical sector with the cadres necessary to achieve the best services to society, and after trusting in God and then supporting my loyal colleagues in the department, we are determined to Continuing the educational process and making every effort to develop the department’s vision and make it based on continuous development to reach the highest competencies in dealing with the latest laboratory technologies in the world. What makes it easier for us to achieve this is the determination of my students who chose this university over others, with the remarkable support of the college and university administration.
Our department occupies a privileged location in the new college building. It also includes air-conditioned classrooms with a capacity of more than 200 students equipped with the latest display technologies. The department also contains 12 independent specialized laboratories and 4 additional joint ones equipped with all practical study requirements.
We ask God Almighty to help us achieve what we aspire to in order to fulfill even a small part of our duty towards our dear country, Iraq.
The department’s management aspires to provide all educational requirements of teaching efficiency with world-class programs in teaching, as well as modern and advanced laboratory requirements that are commensurate with the qualitative leaps the world is witnessing in the field of modern technologies, which have become a distinctive feature of laboratories of developed countries and have won the trust of medical institutions and society. The department also aspires to obtain fundamental approvals to open postgraduate studies that meet the corresponding departments’ need for the appropriate academic staff to bridge the gaps experienced by the concerned departments and colleges.
The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies seeks to prepare graduates with the ability and competence to conduct various medical analyzes and focus on modern technologies that have effectively contributed to identifying and diagnosing pathological conditions, as well as qualifying graduates to continue scientific research through programs that support the student with solid scientific foundations and skills and training him to become professionally qualified High level and distinguished experience that can be invested in the competition for obtaining higher degrees inside and outside the country in the same specialty.
1. Providing distinguished educational programs of high quality that contribute to providing students with the assets of knowledge, developing students’ abilities in analytical thinking and for a number of young creative people in the fields of technical analysis.
2. Keeping abreast of scientific and technical progress through the development of educational plans and quality curricula in a way that contributes to the formation of academic and research cadres capable of contributing to community service.
3. Qualifying students to gain the applied skills needed by the labor market by providing scientific and research laboratories, in addition to equipping laboratories with modern technologies.
4. Applying the university performance quality assurance system to all sections of the department in order to control its educational and research outputs, thus gaining the trust of society and other educational institutions. 5. Develop and develop the skills of the teaching staff by providing modern teaching techniques and supporting them to participate in distinguished local and international courses and conferences.
6. Preparing and publishing valuable scientific research through research plans adopted by the scientific committees in the department, which contribute to solving practical problems at the local and international levels, which can be used in government and private institutions.
