Welcome to the Department of Physical Education & Sport Sciences at Al-Kitab University .

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, which is one of the leading and distinguished departments at Al-Kitab University, was established in 2016 in accordance with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in its order no. 3464 on 22/9/2016.

The department accepts graduates of preparatory schools (literary, biochemical, applied and vocational branches, in addition to teacher training institutes). It awards the graduated student a bachelor degree in physical education and sport sciences.

The Department is characterized by the multiplicity, diversity and overlapping sources of knowledge, such as health science, biology, social, educational and psychological sciences, as well as the application of many games and sport events in a distinguished educational environment.

  1. Developing students’ scientific and practical capabilities for various theoretical sciences and individual and team games in physical and sports education.
  2. Qualifying students to be distinguished to be future leaders in the sports community.
  3. Providing the best educational environment for students to unleash their cognitive and practical capabilities in the sports field.
  4. Effective contribution to solving the educational, social and health problems associated with the sports aspect through scientific research.
  5. Play a distinguished role in developing the sports movement in Iraq through cooperation and participation with clubs and sports institutions.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Science is keen to create the appropriate educational climate for its students to provide various relevant knowledge and sciences, and contribute to the development of the individual and society in accordance with the available resources.
